New Camera!


On Saturday I went to Yongsan electronics market and bought myself a new toy. I picked up a Nikon D70s, Nikon 50mm F1.8 Lens and all the necessities to use the two together.

Since I bought it I’ve been running around taking shots of tons of random crap and trying to figure out how to use it properly. Doing is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to learn. It helps to have people who know what they’re doing as well so hopefully I can recruit Josh and Tarek to go on another photography walk.

Sunday I didn’t do too much but I did go for a walk around Anam, the place I live now, and take some shots of local people and places.

These two girls just started posing when I glanced over at them and I didn’t really think anything of it untill I looked back again and they were still doing it. So I snapped a shot of em :)

As soon as the shutter clicked these 3 other girls started sprinting their asses off from 30′ away to try and get in the next photo. This was a really bizarre experience but I felt good afterwards because as they were walking away they kept yelling “Handsome guy! Very handsome guy!”.

God damn right.

I thought that this was an interesting shot to take so here it is :)

I would love to hear what you think of my photos and I’ll put some more up as I take them. I figure that it’s the people whose blogs have photos are the ones I find most interesting. So I’m going to take a page out of Nara and Yan’s books and try to be a better blogger.

I have to ask why the D70s and not the D80 (besides price)? (or even the eos 400d)

I was playing with the XTi in best buy. its so sweet. Some of her Sw-Sw-Sweeet…. Sw-Sw-Sweeet Camera… *drool*. The only reasons I shy away from the Nikon’s is the size and price, but when you’re bling like Domo, Nander, and all the members of the Wu Yan Crew, it’s all good :P

Well the reason for the D70s over the D80 was 100% based on price. I picked up my camera for 670,000 while Nara got hers for 990,000 that’s about a $375 difference after conversion.
I went for Nikon because both of my parents have a Nikon SLR and I can’t wait to trade and/or steal lenses with them. :)
My friend has the XTi(400D) and it also takes gorgeous photos, I’ve got nothing against Canon, hell I own the SD500, but I just wanted to have Nikon lenses.

Nice!
I’m actually trying to pick a dSLR to buy now. I know I’ll buy one within next month. So far my options are D80, XTi or 30D.
XTi is the cheapest of them but from the reviews of it looks like got the least features. I’m still undecided. Do I want more features and more controls for extra $500?

New layout is sweet, but why do you allow others to register? I did. :p

And I like how you photoshop that scooter picture. you did use photoshop on it, right?
