Ok, I’m super psyched and this post is going to be shit on content. I’m going to B.C. for two weeks!!!! What WHAT?!
So yeah. That’s pretty much that.
Anyways, I’ll do my best to upload pics of what’s going on and all that, I’m going to be shooting like a mofo while I’m there (crackheads be damned, Nara!). So if I can get to the interweeb on a regular basis expect some photos in my updates, ok?
Dragon Wing (Yeah, I’m in comp-sci, are you surprised I have nerdish tendencies?)
3 things I miss about Korea
The bboy scene (no surprise here)
The formal politeness and easy friendliness of the culture
The crazy drinkin/dancing/craziness of the never-ending Korean night-life
3 Favourite courses I took at university
CIS*4000 (Technical presentations) – I just love giving presentations. There’s just something awesome about taking a few papers worth of information (many hours of reading) and boiling it down to an informative and concise 15 minute presentation.
MUSC*2150 (Music and Pop Culture) – I wish I’d been able to take this course with Jesse as well but I learnt (and probably also forgot) so much about many classic types of music that I’d never really bothered listening to. (though I still hate The Beatles…)
ENGL*2740 (Children’s Literature) – made me buy a sweet book of nursery rhymes, with the original and messed up original rhymes. (ie: “Eeny meeny miney mo, catch a nigger by the toe,” wtf??!)
3 secrets you may not know or like about my beliefs
I’m an anti-theist (I’m against the concept of religion in pretty much all forms)
I’m an egalitarian (I think women’s rights are just as important as men’s rights. Hint: Chivalry is dead and that goes both ways)
I think prostitution and marijuana should both be legalized.
My 3 favourite places to have a good, in-depth and possibly “edgy/offensive” conversation in Guelph.
On the bus
Vienna café
The Arboretum
3 best breakfast places in Guelph (That I’ve been…)
Vienna Café (delicious, awesome atmosphere and a metric shit-ton of food for reasonable $$$)
Angel’s Diner (pretty darn good and cheap)
Eggcetera (Nothing mind blowing and the wait’ll kill you but it’s maaaaaaaaad cheap son, like a bird)
My 3 worst bad habits (there’s more than 3, don’t worry…)
Nail biting
Not answering emails
Not keeping on top of my to-do list
The 3 photos I’ve taken, that are on Flickr, that I think represent my photographic style
(man it was hard to pick just 3….)
Ok, now you all have an assignment. Comment on this post with a top 3 (or two, or three, …) of your own
Just a few shots from a day when I was a bit bummed out. Sometimes when I’m feeling down I’ll just go for a walk and think. It helps quite a bit but I figured I’d bring the camera along with me this time and see what came out of it. Here’s some of what did

Which ones do you like best or even not like. I thrive on criticism, positive or negative so let me know what you think
Reading some of my online news sources I came across this little gem (http://cbs13.com/local/rate.a.cop.2.673410.html). It’s a news article about a new website that allows people to rate their experience with any particular police officer in their area. The website (http://www.ratemycop.com/) has the local police officers’ first and last names available on the site, but not other personal information.
Now the concept of a site for rating people of a specific profession is not really a new one, http://www.ratemyprofessors.com has been around since 1999, but I am a little concerned that the police are trying to have it removed. It seems that the police don’t like to be policed themselves. They are seeking legislation to have the site removed by saying that it is putting their families at risk, though the site claims no other personal information is shared on the website.
I, myself, am all for this site as I believe that people in positions of power should be monitored and held accountable for their actions. I always have been as I feel that too often people in such positions find the temptation to abuse their power too great to resist (on a somewhat unrelated I saw a cop turn on his lights to make an illegal left turn and turn them off immediately after again in Toronto this week).
What do you think about the concept of this site? Should it be shut down by the police or do we as citizens have the right to this information as well as the ability to comment on police officers’ behaviour?
note: This is an American site and has not been made available for Canadian residents to comment on Canadian police yet.
This is just something I found while procrastinating. I’ve seen reverse graffiti before but just thought that this video was incredible.
For those who don’t know what reverse graffiti is, it’s the perfectly legal act of selectively cleaning a surface. In this case, the artist chose to clean the grating in an underground tunnel from the exhaust of all the cars that pass through it leaving nice, clean skulls.Doing this really points out how dirty the environment we live in is and hey, it got a result
