New Camera!

27 02 2007

On Saturday I went to Yongsan electronics market and bought myself a new toy. I picked up a Nikon D70s, Nikon 50mm F1.8 Lens and all the necessities to use the two together.

Since I bought it I’ve been running around taking shots of tons of random crap and trying to figure out how to use it properly. Doing is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to learn. It helps to have people who know what they’re doing as well so hopefully I can recruit Josh and Tarek to go on another photography walk.

Sunday I didn’t do too much but I did go for a walk around Anam, the place I live now, and take some shots of local people and places.

These two girls just started posing when I glanced over at them and I didn’t really think anything of it untill I looked back again and they were still doing it. So I snapped a shot of em :)

As soon as the shutter clicked these 3 other girls started sprinting their asses off from 30′ away to try and get in the next photo. This was a really bizarre experience but I felt good afterwards because as they were walking away they kept yelling “Handsome guy! Very handsome guy!”.

God damn right.

I thought that this was an interesting shot to take so here it is :)

I would love to hear what you think of my photos and I’ll put some more up as I take them. I figure that it’s the people whose blogs have photos are the ones I find most interesting. So I’m going to take a page out of Nara and Yan’s books and try to be a better blogger.

Comments are a blogger’s fuel so let me know what you think of the new layout as well :D

Ok, lets see where this takes us. I’ve created a new blog because Drupal was a pain in the arse to deal with at times and lets face it, my old site was butt ugly. That’s just one of Drupal’s shortcomings but it’s the one that bugged me most I think.

So I’ve created this new blog using WordPress and I am constantly being impressed by it. The options are logically laid out in a nice interface and posting and creating categories and all that is done so simply and easily. IMO it beatsthe pants of Drupal, for blogging at least.

Ok, I stopped talking about that so no one’s eyes would glaze over too much. Life’s been good in Korea so far, I’ve met a bunch of bboys, both foreign and Korean. I may in fact be entering a battle with some of them next weeked (no this week) and I’ll be sure to post footage if this does go through. Which reminds me, last weekend I went to the UK BBoy Championship Qualifying Competition for Korea. Whichever crew won would go on to the finals in England in late October. So I figure I might as well post the semi-final and final battles, for your enjoyment. :)
